Axelrod Music has been an integral part of Providence history for decades. Unfortunately, in recent years, the space has become vacant and part of its window display’s have been left empty. To bring life back to the fading architecture, I was tasked with creating window display graphics for the music store to bring interest to this high foot-traffic area. The challenge would be representing the historic past of the city of Providence in only a few display windows.

The final display design featured illustrations of historical architecture in Providence. Each illustration would be uniquely integrated into a letterform, which ultimately spelled the name of the city. Additional embellishments, including skyline gradients and clouds, were added to further the composition of each letter. This design would be professionally printed and is currently displayed at the Axelrod location.
